White Cube was established in 1993 initially as a project room for contemporary art at 44 Duke Street, St James’s. In April 2000 a second, larger gallery space was opened in Hoxton Square, East London. The original gallery in Duke Street closed two years later. In 2006 another major exhibition space was opened in Mason’s Yard, opposite the original gallery in Duke Street. White Cube continues to run a high profile exhibition programme at both its Hoxton Square and Mason’s Yard galleries. White Cube Editions was launched in 2001 to complement the exhibition programme. Over the last eight years the Editions programme has grown from a web-based venture to include a private viewing space at the Hoxton Square gallery. Working closely with various gallery artists, White Cube Editions commissions a dynamic series of multiples and limited edition works each year.
